Tournament Details

 Guidelines:

• Games will be played in knockout format.
• Tournament will be played on weekend of Aug 23rd/24th
• Registration & Confirmed payment by Tuesday, Aug 19th is mandatory. Withdrawal will be allowed on or before Aug 19th, Tuesday only by sending an email to sports_ch@aprcp3.in, no refunds will be entertained post that. 
• In case of any conflicts the Sports Committee's decision will be final.
• To register in another category, you will have to fill up applicable form again.  

Sports Fest generic rules/restrictions:

•  Min 4 participants required in each category for event to be conducted. Failing which event will be cancelled and refund issued to participant. Sports SC decision will be final in this regard.
• Registration/Withdrawal only allowed upto previous Tuesday preceding the event weekend (Sat/Sun). E.g.: For event scheduled on weekend of Aug 23^rd/24^th, last day for registration/withdrawal will close by previous Tuesday, Aug 19^th
• For category eligibility, 1/Aug/2025 will be considered as the benchmark date. No exceptions will be possible
• No Spot Registration.
• Decision of Sports SC will be final in case of conflicts
• In case of multiple categories, a participant is allowed to participate in max of 3 categories only/sport
• Kids turning 18Y on or before Aug 1^st 2025 will be considered adults and wont be permitted to participate in any kids categories

Tourney Rules:

1. A match shall consist of the best of 3 games, 11 points each.

2. The first player to win 11 points wins a game, unless both players have 10 points, then a player must win by 2 points.

3. The right to choose the initial order of serving, receiving, or ends shall be decided by toss.

4. The order of serving shall alternate after every two points until the end of the game unless both players score 10 or more points, at which time the serve will alternate every point.

5. The serve shall pass over the net and touch the opponent’s court, either directly or after touching the net assembly.

6. A let is called if the serve is obstructed or otherwise interrupted.

7. A player scores a point if his or her opponent fails to make a good service or a good return.

8. Players shall change ends after each game and in the deciding game of a match, the players change ends when the first player reaches 5 points

6. Number of matches won

The first and most direct tie-breaker is usually the number of matches won within the competition. The player or team with more wins progresses or takes the higher ranking. 

7. Game difference -

A. If a tie persists after considering the head-to-head result (e.g., in a multi-team tie or if the head-to-head was also tied), the game difference is typically considered.

B. This refers to the difference between the total number of games won and games lost throughout the tournament or qualifying stage.

C. The player or team with the greater positive game difference will be ranked higher. 

8. Points difference

A. If the tie still remains after considering game difference, the points difference comes into play.

B. This is the total points won minus the total points lost throughout the competition.

C. The player or team with the greater positive point difference is ranked higher.
