Run Getting/Batting Rules

Boundary Runs:

  1. Sixes and Fours are valid only towards the straight boundary.
  2. If the ball goes beyond the central spotlight pole or crosses the pole from behind and hits the side netting on full or hits the spotlight pole on the full it counts as 2 runs. To clarify, the ball hitting the base cement structure directly does not count.
  3. All other runs must be collected by running between the wickets.

No Balls/Wide/Overthrows:

  1. No ball (height or front foot) grants a free hit and one run. To clarify, the no-ball (height) can be granted by the leg umpire only (main umpire can discuss with him)
  2. A wide ball outside off stump or down the leg side is one run.
  3. Byes and overthrows are allowed

Bowling Rules

Overs Limit:

  1. In 6-over matches, each bowler has max of two overs.
  2. In 8-over matches, each bowler has a max of three overs.
  3. One over must be bowled by a lady in every match.

Delivery Rules:

  1. Only one bounce is allowed per delivery. If the ball bounces twice, it's a dead ball.
  2. Two dead balls in an over result in a wide ball and extra run.
  3. Lady bowlers can throw/chuck for their entire quota of bowling.
  4. For male players: max 1 over of throwing or chucking allowed. However the bowling team should declare who will be throwing or chucking before the start of the match and take consent from the opposition. Further, it is clarified that this rule is added as a privilege to ensure teams with no bowlers are not at a disadvantage. This rule should not be misused by bowlers who can already bowl full arm - in true sporting spirit.

General Rules

  1. In case of a tie, a super over will decide the winner.
  2. For teams with 5 players, the last player can bat alone but they need to bat with a runner. They can be run out if the runner is run out.
  3. A team cannot substitute a lady fielder throughout the match.
  4. 22 minutes for each innings (45 minutes per match) - breach of this leads to penalty (TBD)

Super Over Rules:

  1. Side batting second goes first
  2. Two wickets and you are done
  3. Same bowler cannot bowl second super over if it comes to that
  4. Same batsman if dismissed cannot bat again in the second super over
  5. The side with maximum runs in the super over wins

Points and Rankings:

  1. If two teams finish on the same points, the head-to-head result will be considered first. If still tied, Net Run Rate (NRR) will decide who advances.
  2. If three teams finish on the same points, there will be a super over between the three teams to decide the qualification
  3. The team with highest NRR among the 3 teams will have a super over match with the winner of a super over match between the remaining two teams. Winner of this match qualifies 1st and loser stands next (if a place exists)

Fielding:

  1. If a team cannot field with 6 players, they must play with 5 players and cannot add an extra fielder.
  2. Two fielders minimum have to field ahead of the spotlight pole at all times

Ways of Getting Out

  1. If the ball touches the overhead net and is caught, it is not considered out.
  2. Mankading is only allowed before the bowler gets into their action. Completing half the action or the entire action before mankading is illegal and not deemed out.
  3. Bowled, Caught, stumped and Run Out remain valid ways of getting out.

Team Composition Rules:

  1. There will be no allowances for team changes or replacements in the middle of the tournament.
  2. If someone gets injured and unable to play, the team has to play without them
  3. If a lady player gets injured or unable to play, then the opposing team has to agree for the replacement player before match start
  4. We will do our best for match fixtures to accommodate everyone. But inordinate delays in starting the matches will lead to walkover situation
