Time: 4 PM to 9 PM

Venue: Baddyzone, Harlur

  • Please reach the venue at least 15 mins before your time slot, It’s very difficult to accommodate all the matches on the same day if the given schedule is not followed.
  • Badminton racquets & shoes are available for rent at the venue but limited quantity, so it is recommended to carry your racquets & shoes. 

Tournament Format: Round Robin + Knockout

  • Round 1 (round-robin)  -> Round 2 -> Quarterfinals -> Semifinals -> Third Place/Final
  • Yonex Mavis 350 Nylon shuttle (green cap) to be used

Unisex Doubles Event - Round-1: 32 Teams

  • Teams are divided into 8 groups, 4 teams in each group, each team to play with the remaining teams of the group (i.e 3 matches for each team). 
  • Each match shall be best of 3 games, each game is to be of 11 points each. At 10-10, the team winning the next point wins the game.
  • In absence of any team at the time of their match, their opponent will be announced as winners.
  • Top 2 teams from each group will be qualified for Round 2. I.e Top 16 teams to be qualified for round-2.
  • All the matches in this round are important as the opponents in the knockout rounds will be decided based on a ranking system.

Unisex Singles Event - Round-1: 44 Players

  • Players are divided into 11 groups, 4 players in each group, each player to play with the remaining players of the group (i.e 3 matches for each player). 
  • Each match shall be best of 3 games, each game is to be of 11 points each. At 10-10, the player winning the next point wins the game.
  • In absence of any player at the time of their match, their opponent will be announced as winners.
  • Leader from each group will be qualified for Round-2. From remaining players across groups, top 5 to be qualified for Round-2.
  • I.e Top 16 players from Round-1 to be qualified for Round-2  and Ranking will be given 
  • All the matches in this round are important as the opponents in the knockout rounds will be decided based on a ranking system

Doubles & Singles - Round-2, Quarterfinals & Semifinals: 

  • Best of 3 games, each game is to be of 15 points each. At 14-14, the team/player winning the next point wins the game.
  • In absence of any team/player at the time of their match, their opponent will be announced as winners.
  • Winner of each match will be advanced to the next round
  • Winners of semis to play finals and losers to play for third place

 Doubles & Singles - Third Place & Finals:

  • Best of 3 games, each game is to be of 21 points each. At 20-20, the team winning the next point wins the game.
  • In absence of any team/player at the time of their match, their opponent will be announced as winners

Ranking/Tie-Breaking Procedure: (Applicable for Round-1)

Ranking (1 to 16) will be given to all the 16 players/pairs who are qualified for Round-2 based on their performance in Round-1. I.e Player/Pair (Rank 1) with most of the number of wins will be playing with a player/pair (Rank 16) with fewer wins. 

Resolving a two-way tie: 

  • If two players/ pairs have won the same number of matches, the winner of the match between them will be ranked higher.

Resolving a three-way tie:

  • If three or more players/ pairs have won the same number of matches, ranking will be established by the difference between total games(sets) won and total games lost, with greater difference ranked higher.
  • If this still leaves two players/ pairs equal, the winner of the match between them will be ranked higher.
  • If three or more players/pairs have won the same number of matches and are equal in the difference between total games(sets) won and total games lost, ranking will be established by the difference between total points won and total points lost, with greater difference ranked higher.
  • If this still leaves two players/ pairs equal, the winner of the match between them will be ranked higher.
  • If after all procedures have been followed, a tie still exists, ranking will be decided with a toss
