Details:

1. League and Qtrs finals Matches Matches will be played on a 5 over basis, 6 balls per over with the score decided by bidding between the captains and the opposite team captain can counter the stakes by adding 5 extra runs to the score (captains who wins the toss first will start the bidding process). Whereas The Semis will be a regular 2 inning format where both teams have to bat & bowl 6 overs with 6 balls each and finals will be 2 innings format where both the teams will have to bat and bowl 6 overs with 6 balls each. 2. Team Composition Each Team will have a maximum of 9 players on the field and shall comprise of 11 players with 2 as substitutes. The reserve player may only play when there is an injury during the course of the match only, with prior approval of the match referee and the opposite team captain. (The substitute player shall not get to bowl or bat). 3. Bowling Spells Each bowler can bowl a maximum of a one 6 ball over only in exception of 1 designated bowler who can bowl 2 overs (12 balls) in the league and semis stages and finals where we have 6 overs match 2 designated bowlers can bowl a maximum of 2 overs, the designated bowler bowling the additional over cannot be brought back within 6 balls of bowling his last spell (For e.g. He may bowl over number 1 & 3 or 2 & 4 or 2 & 4 or 3 & 5 or 4 and 6). Only one bouncer between shoulder & head is allowed in an over. Subsequent bouncers in that over will be declared as wide / NO ball. Foot no ball results in a free hit which will be signaled by the umpire where by the batsman facing cannot be given out unless he runs himself or his partner OUT. Also and if there are 2 consecutive wides in a single over a free hit will be given to the batting side. There should be no change in the field if there is no change in the batsman facing. Any ball bowled drifting outside the leg stump will be declared as wide and any ball bowled outside the 1 & 1/2 stump on the off side and above the head height which is not within the reach of batsman will be declared as wide / no ball. Each team should bowl their allotted 5/6 overs within a time of 25/30 minutes and the batting target will be decided by bidding amongst the team captains after the toss the bidding stakes will increase in multiples of 5 runs only. There is no drinks break allowed at any time during the match 4. Batting Rules When a batsman is out, the next incoming batsman should be ready to face the ball or be ready for his partner to face the ball within one minute. If there is any delay, he will be out- timed out. Last man batting will not be allowed. 5. Power play over We have introduced power play over in all the matches both in league stages, semis, and finals. Batting power play: Only 1 over is allowed In Batting Power play the batsman will have the first choice of taking the power play at any stage of the match and the bowling team can nominate any of their bowler to bowl this over. The runs scored in this over shall be counted as double for Eg: If it is a 4 then the score shall be 8 and for a 6 it will be 12 for 1 run it will be 2 runs etc (where as Wides, NO Ball and byes will be 2 runs only). Bowling power play: Only 1 over is allowed In Bowling Power play the fielding side can take the bowling power play at any stage of the match and the they can nominate any of their bowler to bowl this over They can change their bowler once the batting team chooses to take batting power play before the over starts. The runs scored in this over shall be counted as half for Eg: If it is a 4 then the score shall be 2 and for a 6 it will be 3 for 1 run it will be 0.5 runs etc any decimal will be rounded off at the end of the over (where as Wides, NO Ball and byes will be 1 run only). 6. Dress Code Players should wear only the Costumes provided / approved by the team owners / YIPL Committee. 7. Equipment The matches will be played with tennis balls provided by the organizers which should be returned back to them. Every bowling team will be given a new tennis ball (VICKY CRICKET) at the start of the bowling innings. Bats also will be provided by YI however members can play with their personal bats (Plastic or kerala bats will not allowed, bats meeting ICC recommendations only will be allowed), gloves will be provided. Players are requested to bring their own abdomen guards, gloves & any other accessories not specified. 8. Fixtures & Formats There are 8 Teams – 4 in pool A and 4 in pool B Each Team will have 3 matches each in the league stage and 2 matches in quarter finals stage, all league matches will be decided by pools only. There will not be a change in order of the matches at any cost. Top 3 teams in their respective pools will go to next stage of the league (qrts) the top team of the pool will remain in the same pool and second and third team will play in the opposite pool. In case of a points tie between two teams then the team has beaten the other team in their lea
